Why we're proud to support Giselle, Tammy, Milly and Morocco's forgotten animals

At Nature's Pet, we believe every animal deserves the chance to live a happy, healthy life.

That's why we were honoured to support one of the most inspiring animal rescuers we've ever met, Giselle Gruen, whose tireless work is giving hope to some of Morocco's most vulnerable dogs and cats.

Every day, Giselle cares for animals who have experienced unimaginable cruelty and neglect. Despite limited resources, she refuses to give up on them, providing veterinary care, rehabilitation and, most importantly, love.

When we heard her story, and met some of the remarkable animals she has rescued, we knew we wanted to help.

One rescue in particular touched all of our hearts.

Tammy is a street dog who was found in Casablanca after suffering horrific injuries. Three of her paws and her tail had been cut off, leaving her unable to walk and facing an uncertain future.

Despite everything she had endured, Tammy never lost her gentle spirit.

Giselle searched across Morocco for someone who could help before eventually finding Dr Loubna Aammar at Agafay Veterinary Clinic in Marrakech, one of the few veterinary surgeons in the country able to fit prosthetic limbs.

Thanks to an incredible fundraising effort involving supporters around the world, Tammy is now receiving specialist treatment and learning to use her first custom-built prosthetic. Watching her take those first determined steps has been nothing short of extraordinary.

We couldn't be prouder to play a small part in her journey.

Helping traumatised animals feel safe again

Many animals arrive deeply traumatised after experiencing fear, abuse or abandonment. One of them is Milly, a rescue cat who struggled with the emotional effects of her past.

As part of our donation, we sent Giselle a range of Nature's Pet wellbeing products to support the animals in her care. Milly the cat has been using our Mellow Pet calming formula alongside the patient, compassionate care she receives every day.

Giselle has told us she has seen Milly gradually become more relaxed and trusting, beginning to enjoy life again after everything she has experienced.

Seeing animals regain their confidence is exactly why we do what we do.
